Financial Analyst, FP&A
San FranciscoApply nowAsana is looking for a Financial Analyst to join the FP&A team. The FP&A team’s goal is to help Asana optimize investments for long term growth through thoughtful analysis and deep collaboration with key leaders across the organization.
You will be a trusted advisor to our G&A leadership, delivering insights and providing recommendations for supporting sustainable and efficient growth globally. You will help drive improvements to forecast accuracy, enhance corporate reporting, establish and improve finance processes, and help scale our systems. The ideal candidate will be curious, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with excellent analytical and communication skills.
This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. What you’ll achieve:
- Support strategic short and long-term business decisions through ROI-focused financial modeling and analysis for our internal teams.
- Evolve and implement processes and tools necessary to help scale our FP&A practices; support company-wide planning and forecasting processes in a manner that is both efficient and effective.
- Own and develop financial forecasts that accurately predict business performance; highlight key variances, opportunities, and issues to senior management.
- Establish and maintain relationships with a broad base of key stakeholders (including executives, team leads, and program leads), and serve as a key point of contact for all things finance.
- Perform ad hoc financial analyses as required.
About you:
- 5+ years of applicable experience in FP&A or corporate finance.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance concepts and accounting principles.
- Ability to cultivate effective relationships and work cross-functionally with strong planning, process management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Excellent business judgment and intellectual curiosity; proven ability to turn data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Track record of presenting complex financial analyses clearly and concisely to senior management.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel/Google Sheets.
- Prior experience with ERP software like Anaplan.
- Calmness in the face of uncertainty; comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
- A degree in finance, accounting, economics or related quantitative field a plus.

We believe that compensation should be reflective of the value you create relative to the market value of your role. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.
For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $142,000 - $151,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.
In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
