Convert work assigned in Asana into ready-to-use PDF documents containing records of contractors' work for each payment period.
Contrata helps companies manage contractor payments, invoices, and billing documentation in Poland. With the Asana integration, finance and operations teams no longer have to manually recreate what contractors worked on during a given billing period.
After connecting your Asana workspace, you map each contractor to an Asana user in Contrata. When Contrata generates a work record for a given pay period, it pulls the tasks assigned to that user that were in progress or completed during that period. Task names come from Asana; hours are matched to the contractor's payment amount according to the settings in Contrata.
If there are no matching tasks in Asana or the contractor is not mapped, Contrata uses the standard document generator — payments are not blocked.
What this integration offers:
Connecting one or more Asana workspaces via OAuth
Mapping contractors to Asana users in Contrata
Creating PDF work records based on actual activity in Asana
Independent data sources for each contractor — Jira, Asana and other systems do not interfere with each other
Disconnect at any time; Asana mappings are cleared when the integration is disconnected
Contrata only reads the task and user data needed to generate documents. OAuth tokens are stored securely on Contrata's server and are not made available in the browser.
You will need: a Contrata account (administrator or manager permissions), access to an Asana workspace, and contractors added in Contrata.
Log in to Contrata as an admin or organization manager.
Open Settings → Integrations in the Contrata dashboard.
Click on “Connect with Asana” and authorize access to your Asana workspace when the OAuth request appears.
Confirm the connection — you should see the name of the Asana workspace and the status "Connected" in Contrata.
Map contractors to Asana users:
Navigate to the Contractors tab and open a contractor profile (add a new one or edit an existing one).
In the Work Records section, set the Data Source to Asana.
Select the appropriate User from the dropdown list.
Save the contractor.
Document generation — When Contrata creates PDF files of time records for the payment date, it uses Asana tasks for mapped contractors. Contractors without mapping use Contrata's standard generator.
To disconnect the integration, go back to Settings → Integrations, click Disconnect Asana, and confirm. This will remove the connection to Asana and clear the Asana mappings for all contractors in your organization.
Example: Link a freelancer to their Asana profile; at the end of the month, process the payment in Contrata — the PDF files will contain the actual tasks from Asana.
Issues: Don't see Asana as an option? First, link your accounts in settings. Empty records? Check the people assigned to tasks and the task dates during the billing period. Only administrators or managers will be able to link an account to Asana.
